Hey everyone! It’s been a while since my last post as life has finally picked up and started to become…busy! With summer reading for my final year, working part time and looking after a needy dog, I feel like life is happening in full speed at the moment. However, I still plan on writing a post at least once a week starting with this one.
Autumn is coming around quick as the weather in the UK has already took a turn for the worst. So, I’ve started to wear a few of my transitional pieces in my wardrobe that are perfect for this mid season.
Firstly, it’s all about layering. Light layers are key to this time of the year so a trench coat or a lightweight coat is great. H&M have a great trench in at the moment with volumized sleeves, or a utility jacket is another great option to wear over a t-shirt with jeans, dad sandals or chunky boots.

Shackets are in once again and there are so many different ones available at the moment. They’re a perfect jacket for this strange time of the year when there’s a slight chill in the air but the sun still peeks through now and again. You can wear them with a boxy t-shirt underneath, or in the later months layer up with a cable knit jumper.

Lightweight knits are a great option for transitioning into autumn/winter months. As an online shopping addict, I have noticed that knitted short sleeves tops are going to be around this year but also, the knitted vest. Now controversial I know, but if styled well they can look so chic and effortless. I’d say the best way to style a knitted vest would be with a oversized shirt underneath, slim fit jeans or a mini skirt and chunky boots would look great!

Now, as we’re still in August as I write this post, I don’t want to dismiss dresses and skirts just yet and there’s no need to just because it’s a little colder! Mini dresses are easily wearable for this time of year; wear it with a leather jacket and biker boots or trainers to harshen the look slightly so it’s less summery. As an alternative, midi dresses or midi skirts are great going into winter and possibly my favourite pieces to wear around this time of year.
Boots! As I have previously mentioned, are a great transitional piece. They’re so many options online right now and I definitely think the chunkier style is going to be around this year and next.
Finally, trousers. All summer I have lived in my blue ASOS mom jeans but I think a darker denim is great for this time of year. I have recently just ordered some blue skinny jeans to go with my trench style coat or a shacket or, black mom jeans are a great option also. Wide leg trousers will definitely be sticking around this year and through to next year, and I have seen some great styles on Topshop, ASOS and Zara. Wide leg trousers can really bring an outfit together and make it more chic, but give you the ultimate comfort factor at the same time!

So that’s all for this post! I have to say as much as I love summer time, I much prefer the fashion in autumn/winter. I hope you enjoy this one as I have such a love for this time of year!
Thanks for reading, Nat x
